About Me......
EDUCATION
A native of Winston-Salem, I matriculated through the WSFCS system graduating from R.J. Reynolds High School. I continued my education at Spelman College in Atlanta, Georgia (BA – Mathematics) and North Carolina Agricultural & Technical State University in Greensboro, North Carolina (BS – Architectural Engineering).
CAREER
After 20 years in the public and private sector working as an engineer,
I followed in the footsteps of two generations of family educators including my mother who taught for more than 25 years in the
WSFCS.
I have served 19 years as a Middle and High School Teacher in our system having taught at Atkins Middle School, Wiley Middle School, Robert B. Glenn High School and Middle College of Forsyth. I served on many school and system committees and as an advisor to several clubs and organizations. I was awarded the 2020-21 Teacher of the Year for Middle College of Forsyth.
INVOLVEMENT
I continue to keep busy serving my church, Wentz Memorial United Church of Christ, as a member of the Trustee Board and our community through a variety of civic and social organizations. I am a lifetime member of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. and Girl Scouts of America.
PERSONAL
I am married to Reginald Gaither, also a product of the WSFCS, and together we have four children, Lemuel, Aprille, Nakia and Reginald, Jr.. We are blessed with eight beautiful grandchildren.
